Die folgende Tabelle listet die World Pipe Band Champions - die Besten der Besten - seit 1947 auf. Selbstverständlich stellt die Liste gleichzeitig eine gute Orientierungshilfe beim Kauf von CDs dar: Geprüfte Qualität... Man achte neben dem Bandnamen auch auf den jeweiligen Pipe Major: Robert Mathieson beispielsweise hat einige hervorragende Soloalben gemacht. Es wird auffallen, dass nur sehr wenige Pipe Bands World Champion werden: Die Luft ist sehr dünn auf dem Mount Everest... ;-)
